We believe in progress that takes responsibility

At FOODFAIR, we firmly believe that technology is most valuable when it serves people, animals, and systems. That's why we develop AI solutions that not only work precisely, but are also tailored to the industry in which they are used.

For us, progress begins where processes become more efficient without losing their humanity. Where animal welfare is not documented because it has to be, but because it matters. And where economic efficiency is not at odds with responsibility, but is the result of it.

FOODFAIR was born out of the belief that the food industry deserves more than generic digitalization. ÖFK, the Austrian authority for classification and animal welfare assessment, and SLA, with over 25 years of experience in digitizing the meat industry, have combined their expertise to develop AI solutions that are truly tailored to the industry. Today, we are working with businesses, authorities, and research partners to shape a new quality of digitization: tried and tested, ethically sound, and economically effective.

Zwei Welten - ein Ziel

Hinter FOODFAIR stehen zwei Partner, wie sie unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten – und doch perfekt zusammenpassen. Die Österreichische Fleischkontrolle (ÖFK) bringt jahrzehntelange Erfahrung in Klassifizierung, Rückverfolgbarkeit und Auslobung von Qualitätsprogrammen ein. SLA Software Logistik Artland entwickelt seit über 25 Jahren smarte Digitalisierungslösungen für die Fleischwirtschaft – immer mit Blick auf Effizienz, Datenqualität und Prozessintegration.

The idea that responsibility, efficiency, and animal welfare are not mutually exclusive, but must be considered together. Together, we are working on AI systems that measurably improve processes, can be reliably integrated, and take into account everyday life on the production line as well as ethical requirements and economic objectives.

Forschung & Kooperationen

For us, responsibility is not a principle – it is a promise.

We work with partners from science, industry, and government to ensure that animal welfare, sustainability, and traceability in food production are not only possible but measurable.

Our AI identifies risks, documents changes, and provides reliable data for auditing, research, or certification. And because we don't just promise solutions, we deliver them, we let our results speak for themselves.

In several projects, we are working with institutions such as BOKU Vienna and Vetmeduni Vienna to evaluate animal welfare indicators.

Our models are trained using real production data—labeled by QA specialists and subject to official checks.

Pilot studies with authorities and certification bodies have developed procedures for digital traceability and individual animal diagnosis.

Our partners are part of national and EU-funded innovation programs.

The ÖFK actively contributes its decades of experience in classification-related norms and standards.
